Language Centre of Masaryk University is hosting an international conference focusing on “Language for Specific Purposes in Business and Economics at Tertiary Level” held in Brno, CZ on 6 September 2019
All language teachers and professionals specialising in teaching business English, German, French, Spanish and Russian are invited.
The aim of the conference is to bring together professionals from amongst LSP teachers of English, German, French, Spanish and Russian at tertiary education institutions in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries in order to share knowledge and experience, and examine the latest trends in teaching LSP. The Centre hopes to establish a platform for in-depth discussions ranging from the role of business language teachers of millennial students, through methods and techniques that shape the modern classroom to material design and assessment tools.

Presentations, workshops and posters in the following areas of LSP are welcomed:
- teaching business English, German, French, Spanish and Russian
- methodology
- material design
- course design
- evaluation and assessment
- new trends in teaching LSP
The official languages of the conference are English and Czech.
To participate actively in the form of presentations, workshops or poster presentations, send an abstract of 200 – 300 words, including a short bionote with registration.
Presentations should be 20 minutes long with 10 minutes of ensuing discussion; workshops will last 45 minutes. Papers based on presentations will be subject to a peer-review process and selected contributions published in CASALC Review.
Important dates: The deadline to apply is 15 May 2019.
Conference fees:
Early bird registration – open until 15 May 2019: CZK 650 or €25
Registration from 16 May until 31 July 2019: CZK 800 or €30
The conference fee is to be paid via the Commercial Centre. The fee covers lunch, coffee break snacks and administrative fees.
