The Department of Germanic, Russian, and East European Languages and Literatures at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick, NJ) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track one-year position as a Visiting Lecturer in the Russian and East European Program, effective September 1, 2019. We seek a vibrant instructor to teach first-year Russian language, as well as undergraduate literature and culture courses, including those on Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. Teaching load is 3:3. The appointed Lecturer is expected to participate in the life of the program, help organize student events, and advise students. Ph.D. in Russian or a closely related field strongly preferred, although candidates who are ABD may be considered. Native or near-native fluency in Russian and English, and evidence of successful teaching experience, required.
