The Debrecen Summer University deals with teaching Hungarian as a foreign language and spreading Hungarian culture. Its aim is to promote a deeper knowledge of the Hungarian language and culture. Teaching a language is inseparable from mediating the cultural values of that nation. The cultural programs are recommended by Debrecen Summer University courses therefore make a significant contribution to the achievement of the primary task of teaching the Hungarian language at the highest possible level. Accordingly, most of the courses also include programs that, besides actively spending leisure time, also serve to familiarize Hungarian culture with the informal form of language learning.
The age limit for participants is 16 years old.
The Hungarian Language and Culture Summer Course includes intensive language instruction for all levels, cultural excursions, and connections with local students.
