Assistant Director, Institute for European Studies and Polish Studies Center

Manages all day-to-day operations of both the Institute for European Studies (EURO), a Title VI Comprehensive National Resource Center, and the Polish Studies Center (PSC), including administrative functions, programming, and outreach. Serves as the principal administrative liaison between EURO and PSC and their various constituencies within and beyond the IUB campus. Specifically, this position manages and implements the EURO Title VI grant; identifies and writes new grant proposals for EURO and POSC; works with the director of EURO to enhance student recruitment; Promotes and advertises EURO’s wide range of degrees and certificates; Searches out curriculum development opportunities and coordinates course submissions; oversees the administrative and financial functions of EURO and POSC; coordinates EURO and POSC programming and student support; hires and supervises GAs and hourly staff; and directs outreach activities to K-12 students and teachers, academia and general audience. In collaboration with the Director of Institute for European Studies and the Director of the Polish Studies Center, the assistant director will also help create new strategic directions and plans for both centers, as well as maintain communication with and support of affiliated faculty. The Assistant Director manages both units’ institutional capacities and oversees the grant making and program activities in both its academic and outreach components.
