CFP: Slavic Cognitive Linguistics Conference

Deadline: June 15, 2020

The organizing committee of SCLC-2020 still hopes to have the conference as scheduled in December 4-6, 2020, as planned. The confirmed invited speaker of the conference is Martin Haspelmath.

In case it will not be possible to hold SCLC-2020 in December, the event will be moved to June. We have now the exact dates for this plan B: June 4-6, 2021. The confirmed invited speakers of the conference in June 2021 are Martin Haspelmath (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History) and Sergey Say (Institute for Linguistic Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, Laboratory of Typology).

In case of plan B, all abstracts accepted for December 2020 will be automatically accepted for June 2021. For more information, please see the conference page https://site.uit.no/clear/sclc-2020/

There are two more events in June 2021 that are of interest for cognitive linguists and will take place right after SCLC (Plan B), so that it is possible to attend all three events:

  • In June 7-9 2021, there will be a course “Statistical Modeling for Linguists” by Bodo Winter (University of Birmingham, UK) (read more here; concerning registration for the course contact the local organizer Gillian Ramchand at gillian.ramchand@uit.no).
  • In June 10-11 2021, we will hold a Summer Seminar of the Norwegian Cognitive Linguistics Association (NORKOG Sommerseminar, confirmed invited speakers are Maarten Lemmens (Université de Lille) and Hanne M. Eckhoff (University of Oxford); the language of the conference is Norwegian).
