Acad. Job: Teaching Assistant Professor in Russian (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill)

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (http://gsll.unc.edu/) is seeking to fill appointments for two superior and innovative instructors to teach Russian language courses coordinated by the Russian Flagship Program Director.

These will be one-year non-tenure-track positions (Teaching Assistant Professors) with option to renew, to begin on July 1, 2021. The successful candidates will each carry a full-time, 3/3 teaching load; duties will involve teaching and university service.

Master of Arts (or foreign equivalent) in Slavic languages and literatures or closely related field, required by July 1, 2021. Native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English required.

Candidates are expected to have familiarity with communicative methods and technologies used in teaching the Russian language at the college level, including online and hybrid (face-to-face and online) language pedagogy.
