The Translation Stream organizing team invites proposals for the Translation stream at the ASEEES 2021 Convention. They hope to organize one or more round tables and several panels following Convention themes:
Round table topics:
Interdisciplinarity of Soviet Translation Theory
Translation and Identity: Intersectionality and Diversity in Translation Practice
General panel topics:
Translation and diversity
Translation and interdisciplinarity
Translation and intersectionality
Very welcome are paper proposals that address: translation history and theory in Imperial Russia, Soviet Union and post-Soviet space; translation and multinational Soviet literature; translation and creative writing; translation and suppressed discourses; gender issues in translation; translation and activism; multimedia translation.
Please, send your proposals by February, 12th to Elena Zemskova (el.zemskova@gmail.com) and Maria Khotimsky (khotimsk@mit.edu)
For paper proposals: please send paper title and abstract (100 words)
For round table participation: please send key points of your contribution (2-3 sentence statement about your approach to the topic)
Your proposals will be reviewed by the organizing team.
