Acad. Job: Lecturer in History (Western Colorado U)

Western Colorado University invites applications for a one-year Lecturer position in History beginning in August 2021. The History Program at Western Colorado University is part of the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences. The Program has 2 full-time faculty members and approximately 45 Majors and three tracts: Standard History major, Secondary Licensure, and Public History. We are looking for innovative forward thinking faculty to help modernize our History program offerings.
 
Duties:

General area of specialization is European but second fields outside of US, Africa and Latin America are of interest especially experience or specialization in Digital History. Teaching load is 24 semester credits per academic year (4 courses per semester) and involves academic advising, assisting with the History League, program recruitment and the development of Digital History projects and/or course. There is also the opportunity to develop and deliver innovative courses in their area of expertise. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based upon strong performance and funding availability.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in History or Digital History, evidence of teaching excellence and a demonstrated ability to work collegially in a student-centered learning environment while building relationships with external constituents that benefit students. Strong candidates with ABD status may be considered for appointment.

Additional Application Information:

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary range is $44,000 – $45,000 per year. Benefits include an employee/employer shared contribution retirement plan and life and health insurance.
