UVA’s programs in regional studies have partnered to create a vibrant intellectual and professionally minded community for master’s students that multiplies their academic and career opportunities. The four separate degree programs allow students to engage directly with cultural, historical and political experts on the topics and populations that are most central to their research interests. At the same time, the regional studies consortium provides students with communal training in research methods and professional writing, access to academic exchanges and industry-based internships, and interaction with a network of accomplished graduates in shared employment sectors.
The four MA programs are: East Asian Studies; European Studies; Middle Eastern & South Asian Languages and Cultures; and Contemporary Russian Studies
