The Russian American Foundation is hiring for several program assistant, interpreter and teaching positions in summer 2022 that may interest your students. Resumes and cover letters should be sent to careers@russianamericanfoundation.org

1) Program Assistant – CT (6/23 – 8/6/22)

PA will be responsible for supervising participants (ages 9-15 yrs) as well as running extracurricular/ non-ballet activities (outdoor games, arts & crafts, etc.). PAs will work as a team of 3-4 and will report to the Program Director. This position is well-suited for candidates with strong academic or career interests in: performing arts, global languages/cultures (especially Russian), sports medicine, and/or child education.

REQUIRED: Residency on campus (single AC rooms), experience with overseeing youth.

BENEFITS: $3000-3,500 for the period (combination of wages/bonuses), housing & meals, 5 days off.

2) Sr. Staff / Interpreter – CT & NY*

Sr. Staff: Interpreter will be responsible for interpreting during ballet classes from Russian to English language. Interpreters may have 4-5 classes/day and a 5-day week. To be successful in this position, candidates should have advanced proficiency of both languages, be able to quickly switch between them, and be able to sustain focus for the duration of class lasting approximately 1.5 hrs. Russian language reading & writing capacity is preferred. Ability to conduct a stretch class for dancers is a plus.

REQUIRED: Advanced proficiency in English & Russian, knowledge of ballet terminology preferred.

BENEFITS:

  • CT: $3500 for the period, housing & meals. 5 days off. On-campus residency (single AC rooms)
  • NY*: $650/week. Dates: 6/24-8/5 (Mon-Fri). Housing possible with additional supervisory responsibilities.

3) Sr. Staff / Russian Language Teacher – CT (6/23 – 8/6/22)

Sr. Staff: Russian Language Teacher will be responsible for introducing dancers (ages 9-15) to Russian language and culture in a fun/interactive/engaging manner. Teacher will have about 4-5 groups/day, with each group for about 1hr class/4-5 times per week. Some participant overseeing duties will be assigned also. 

REQUIRED: Residency on campus (single AC rooms), experience teaching Russian at novice level.

BENEFITS: $3,500 for the period, housing & meals. 5 days off.

LIVING ON CAMPUS AT BBASI CT

Staff reside in single AC rooms with other staff and participants in the same dorm.

Dining facility operated by Flik, a leading provider of healthy & nutritious dining for schools.

On-site fitness center for exclusive use of staff during their time off.
