Acad. Job: Lecturer in Russian Studies (University of Manchester)

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Russian Studies (teaching and research), which is tenable from 1 September 2022.

You must have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field and demonstrable teaching experience in Russian studies at university level. Your research may focus on any aspect or period of Russian culture, but the position is not open to those working in the field of linguistics. Only applicants with high quality publications will be considered. You must be fluent in English and Russian. Some involvement in the language teaching activities of the department will be non-negotiable. The following would be highly desirable: record of grant capture and PhD supervision, experience of assessing translation at undergraduate level, and experience developing online teaching materials. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with students.
