Acad Job: Assistant Teaching Professor in Ukrainian (Penn State)

The Department of Germanic & Slavic Languages & Literatures at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in Ukrainian position (non-tenure-track). This is a limited-term, 36-week appointment (two academic semesters) beginning Fall 2022 with possibility of renewal.

Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Ukrainian and English and hold a doctorate or equivalent in Ukrainian Studies or a related field. Applications from individuals with prior experience teaching Ukrainian and Russian language courses will be given priority. Candidates with international publications specialized in foreign language pedagogy, along with a proven track-record of working together with German and English scholars are also preferred.

In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes benefits. All courses will be taught in person at the University Park campus.
