The Russian program in the Department of German and Russian at Brigham Young University seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty or visiting position specializing in Russian language, linguistics, literature, or culture. We are seeking a colleague with a strong commitment to student mentoring, with PhD in hand by August, 2023. The successful candidate must be willing and able to teach all levels of Russian language and general education courses and will be expected to contribute to the university’s mission and aims.

Required Degree:
PhD in a field demonstratively related to Russian language, culture, and/or literature. Such fields might include linguistics, Russian literature, or Russian cultural studies.
Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Superior-level proficiency in Russian language.
- Experience teaching core courses in Russian language, literature, or culture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated track record of scholarly research will be particularly attractive.
- Commitment to mentoring undergraduate Russian students.
Duties/Expectations:
Hold at least a PhD in related field by the start of the contract period. Teach up to 6 courses per year in BYU’s Russian major. Conduct research and publish in reputable peer-reviewed venues.
