Deputy Managing Editor

Who are we looking for?

A person who loves editorial flow and strategies. Punctual and organised, with a considerable experience in journalism and teamwork. Ideally English language native speaker but not a must. A person that cares as much about commas as language nuances and diversity of transnational contexts. Friendly with a digital toolbox (Google Workspace environment, Slack awareness) and Twitter flow savvy. A tasteful eye for illustrative material and some experience with Canva would be great.

What is the job like?

Following the managing editor lead, you will help manage the editorial process, including publications at Visegrad Insight and contacts with authors, fellows, and partner media in CEE. This will also involve close editorial work, influencing the titles and headings, social media communication and the creative art process. We expect you to work with us from our Warsaw office and focus instead on scheduling rather than reacting to emergencies. And your first task will be to manage the production of our upcoming podcast episodes.

Why work with us?

We are a unique media platform enjoying an excellent reputation internationally for our state-of-the-art analysis and reporting on CEE democratic security affairs. Our team in Warsaw is small and friendly rather than a corporate environment. Yet, despite running a not-for-profit business, we tend to have a more professional approach than most NGOs. We offer stable employment with prospects of growth and raise starting at 8,000 PLN per month.
