CFP: Canadian Assoc. of Slavists Book Prize

The 2019 Canadian Association of Slavists/Taylor & Francis Book Prize has released a call for submissions! Please note that all submissions must be postmarked by or on 15 May 2019. Full details follow in English below.

The book prize jury consists of three members chosen by the CAS executive. Nominations for the 2019 Book Prize competition are to be postmarked by or on 15 May 2019. The prize winner will be announced in an e-mail to CAS members and on the CAS/CSP website in September 2019. Lang. Training: Summer Russian Course with Online Option (Norman, OK)

The University of Oklahoma in Norman is offering a five-hour second-semester Russian course (RUSS 1225) this summer that can be taken either as a seat-time class in Norman or through a virtual meetings platform from afar.  Long-distance students can see the board, the instructor, the seat-time students, and each other.  Communicative work is emphasized.  The class will run from June 10-July 19, 10:30-12:50 MTWRF using the textbook Beginner’s Russian.  Interested students should contact Matthew McGarry if they have questions: Matthew.P.Mcgarry-1@ou.edu.

Job: Museum of Russian Icons Curator (Clinton, MA)

Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton, Massachusetts seeks accomplished, experienced, energetic full-time Curator with expertise in icons, Byzantine or related art field, and working knowledge of Church Slavonic and Russian. Will lead regional and national activities related to the collection, temporary exhibitions, and build the Museum’s academic programs with its Center for Icon Studies, including the Journal of Icons Studies.

Acad. Job: Visiting Lecturer in Russian Lit (UCSD)

The Department of Literature at UC San Diego invites applicants to teach one or more courses in Russian Literature during the 2019-2020 academic year.
