SRAS is seeking an Internet savvy intern for a paid position within SRAS.

Duties will focus on SRAS’ social media accounts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube as well as on SEO duties on the SRAS Family of Sites.

Commit to just 5-10 hours per week for a year and work while attending your home university and/or while on an SRAS program. Build valuable skills and a great portfolio while earning cash towards your education!

The U.S. Department of State is currently accepting applications for the Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS).

The Virtual Student Federal Service is the largest virtual internship program in the world! This year we will offer 3,000 positions with 52 federal agencies. VSFS offers unique mentoring and exposure to job opportunities within the U.S. government.

Each year, applications are open to U.S. college students during the entire month of July. Go to VSFS to see the 950+ projects available. Then, create an account on USAJOBS.gov, build a resume, and apply to the VSFS vacancy announcement. VSFS does not require any documentation although you may upload transcripts in your USAJOBS profile if you like. The most important part of your VSFS application is your personal statement of interest.

Our summer internship is offered for two weeks from July 12th until July 27th at the children’s camp in the picturesque Altai Mountain region. If your student is interested in a more extended stay we can offer a summer internship that would comprise of the camp program and a Russian course in the city of Novosibirsk on completion of the camp. Internship: Summer Online Research Internship and Submissions Open for Student Journal (SRAS)

Internship Deadline: May 20, 2021

The SRAS Summer Online Research Internship is a highly flexible program that builds student resumes with publishing experience! Students who complete the program also earn $200 towards a SRAS study abroad program OR $75 that can be spent on SRAS online courses. Writing topics are highly varied and tailored, in part, to student interests. The application deadline is May 20th. More information can be found at https://sras.org/internship.

Vestnik, the student journal started and supported by SRAS, is also currently accepting submissions. Student writing on any subject and time period related to Eastern and Central Europe, Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucuses is accepted. Fellowship: Graduate Women in Public Policy (Washington DC)

The Congressional Fellowships on Women and Public Policy program is now accepting applications until the deadline on June 3rd. The program places fellows in the Washington, D.C. offices of Members of Congress and congressional committees. Additionally, fellows meet once a week at issue seminars with women’s advocates, congressional staff, researchers, and lobbyists. This program is unique—it is the only graduate-level fellowship program on Capitol Hill focused on women.

Position Summary

Freedom House is seeking three (3) motivated candidates to inaugurate the nine-month Freedom in the World Junior Fellowship program. Freedom in the World is Freedom House’s flagship analysis on political rights and civil liberties in 210 countries and territories. Produced since 1973, it is the most widely read and cited report of its kind, used on a regular basis by policymakers, journalists, academics, activists, and others. The most recent edition of Freedom in the World, published in March 2021, was cited in the Washington Post, the AtlanticNBC NewsCNN, the BBC, and in a March 3 speech about US foreign policy by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, among many other places.
