HSE invites qualified candidates to apply to a position at HSE international Recruiting Center. Intermediate Russian language preferred. Candidates should have a degree in marketing or advertising and be ready to move to Moscow. Position is open until filled.

About the School:

National Research University Higher School of Economics  is one of Russia’s largest and most modern state universities. Established in 1992 as a program in economics, HSE currently offers 87 programs in 16 areas of study for undergraduate students and 129 Master’s programs in 28 areas of study. 25 Master’s programs are currently taught entirely in English. At its four campuses – in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm and Nizhny Novgorod – HSE offers instruction to more than 30,000 students each year. Title: Postgraduate Fellowship

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship to be held at the Centre for Ethics, University of Toronto (C4E), during the 2017-18 academic year. We welcome candidates with research interests from diverse backgrounds including, but not limited to, philosophy, law, political science, the social sciences, and the humanities, that further the C4E’s mission as an interdisciplinary centre aimed at advancing teaching and research in the field of ethics, broadly defined, by bringing together the theoretical and practical knowledge of diverse scholars, students, public servants and social leaders in order to increase understanding of the ethical dimensions of individual, social, and political life. To get a sense of the disciplinary range and diversity of C4E events, activities, and projects, candidates are encouraged to consult the C4E website (http://ethics.utoronto.ca).

Under the direction of the Director, Centre for Ethics, the successful candidate will conduct research and participate in C4E events, activities, and projects, and will help to develop an interdisciplinary ethics community across campus and to foster public discourse on issues of ethical import in all aspects of individual, social, and political life. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach one single-semester course in each of the fall and winter terms.

The appointment term is from August 1, 2017 to July 31, 2018, at a combined research and teaching stipend of $46,000 per year.

Applicants must have completed all requirements for their doctorate by July 31, 2017. Candidates must also be no more than 5 years from the awarding of their degree, and cannot have accepted or hold a tenure-track position.

Legislative Fellowships

Each Legislative Fellow is assigned to a specific Senator’s office, where they will function largely as if they were regular staff.  While duties vary depending on the needs of the member, Legislative Fellows generally perform in-depth policy research, take part in meetings with various interest groups and constituents, and attend legislative sessions.

Memorial Fellowships

Memorial Fellowships are awarded to applicants who demonstrate the unique qualifications and abilities required of each position.  There are three such placements, each awarded to a single individual for the Fellowship class.

• Roth Fellowship: The recipient of the Roth Fellowship will be placed in the Senate Majority Press Office.  The Roth Fellowship requires extraordinary communications skills and an ability to explain policy positions quickly and concisely to the media and to the broader public.
• Wiebe Fellowship: The recipient of the Wiebe Fellowship is placed in the Majority Counsel/Program Services Office, and works on a variety of policy areas of interest to the Senate Majority Conference.  Wiebe Fellows demonstrate broad interests in all areas of public policy in New York State.
• Biggane Fellowship: The recipient of the Biggane Fellowship will be placed with the Senate Finance Committee.  The Biggane Fellow focuses on budget and/or fiscal matters, and will be involved in the budgetary process – one of the Senate’s primary responsibilities to the people of New York.

Associate Director, Summer Language Workshop, Indiana University

Job Summary: Manages the day-to-day operations of the Summer Language Workshop in compliance with IU and federal policies and procedures. Hires and supervises staff (one full time administrative secretary and temporary/part-time student employees); and establishes policies and procedures within the Workshop. Oversees both the student application and registration processes as well as the unit’s funding (preparing budgets, purchasing, supervising accounts manager, preparing multiple grant performance reports). Implements grant activities (planning outreach and proficiency testing); organizes advisory meetings; and consults with faculty, other IU units, and external organizations (ex. other Title VIII-funded programs) on grant projects. Directs outreach activities to promote the Workshop to students and teachers, academia and general audience; and establishes and maintains contacts with Workshop’s alumni.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in a communication, outreach, or student development position at a university, international organization, NGO, or equivalent.

Knowledge of Russian, other East European language, or Central Asian language. Demonstrated computer skills including familiarity with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals. Exceptional concentration and attention to detail and ability to work effectively with frequent interruptions.

American Cultural Exchange Service (ACES) is seeking a qualified
Resident Director (RD) to work on site with a group of 15 US high
school students for an approximately six-week (approximately from the
end of June to mid August) program in Moscow, Russia through the
National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program. In
Russia, students will engage in language learning in both formal
(language courses) and informal settings (host family living). The RD
is required to attend a two-day pre-program training in Bellevue, WA
(late May to early June), attend a student orientation in Washington
D.C., represent ACES for the duration of the program in Moscow, and
submit a final report at the end of the program.

NSLI-Y is a US State Department sponsored scholarship program funded
by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. American High
School Students apply for merit-based scholarships to spend a summer,
semester, or academic year studying less commonly taught languages in
an international immersion setting. NSLI-Y encourages beginning,
intermediate, and advanced language learners with a passion for
learning languages, communicating across cultures, and living abroad
to apply. Participants are U.S. high school students between 15 and 18
years of age, who have beginner, intermediate or advanced Russian
language skills. The Resident Director will help administer the
