This position will please an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Language Workshop.

This position will please an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the Language Workshop. Takes primary responsibility for execution and oversight of grant activities and reporting; coordinates academic and outreach programming; and serves as primary supervisor of office support staff, graduate assistants, seasonal-hire instructors, and interns. Oversees Workshop business and financial processes; monitors accounts and budget tracking processes; develops plans for optimal use of [base and discretionary] budgets. Takes primary responsibility for supervising the Center’s strategic communications, including web and social media activity, as well as development outreach to alumni. Advises the Director about issues of strategy and policy; identifies opportunities for the development of intramural and extramural funding streams and advises the Director on findings. Acad. Job: Visiting Lecturer in Russian Lang/Lit. (Rutgers)

The Department of Germanic, Russian, and East European Languages and Literatures at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick, NJ) invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track one-year position as a Visiting Lecturer in the Russian and East European Program, effective September 1, 2019.  We seek a vibrant instructor to teach first-year Russian language, as well as undergraduate literature and culture courses, including those on Tolstoy and Dostoevsky.  Teaching load is 3:3. Position Dates: June 10 – August 7, 2019

The Tutor, under the direct supervision of the Language Coordinator, assists SILP students in their academic coursework outside of class (approximately 10 hours/week).

Qualifications:

  • Advanced fluency (Advanced Low or above) in the target language
  • Experience tutoring and/or working with foreign language learners
  • B.A. with a foreign language major or equivalent preferred
  • M.A. in foreign language teaching in progress preferred

Lang. Training: Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute

2019 Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute
June 22–August 10, 2019

The 2019 Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute offers unique courses in Ukrainian studies taught by Harvard and visiting faculty. These courses are intended for graduate students and advanced undergraduates who are concentrating in Ukrainian studies or who wish to broaden their educational experience.

Applicants may register for 8 or 4 credits to participate in the program.

All students seeking financial aid (US and international) must submit the HUSI application and supporting material by March 18, 2019.

International students who do not seek financial aid must submit the HUSI application by Monday, April 15, 2019. US applicants not requesting financial aid must apply to HUSI by May 9, 2019. All students must register and enroll in courses with the Summer School by May 20 to avoid late registration fees.

The Department of Germanic and Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks a one- academic-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian Studies, starting August 19, 2019.  Position involves teaching survey courses in Russian literature and culture, folklore, and gender studies (20th-21st c.). Teaching load is two courses per semester (four per academic year).
