On behalf of the Eastern and South-Eastern Europe (ESEE) Fanel Network, we are pleased to invite you to the international conference titled “The Other Europe? Resilience and Assertiveness in Our Region”, which will take place between 14-15 January 2022.
The event aims at providing a platform for the exchange of ideas between women experts in the broader field of International Relations, who can thus express their views in three thematic FANELs on vital aspects of societal and political issues regarding the Eastern, South-Eastern Europe, Black Sea Region, and Central Europe subregions. The conference will open with welcoming notes and keynote speeches from the region to set the stage for a fruitful event. We will continue with a Roundtable with leading regional women experts to discuss the topic: How can women experts from Eastern, South-Eastern and Central Europe counter illiberal trends in the region? We would like offer the opportunity for an open dialogue between academia and the political sphere, in order to counter effectively hybrid threats, which are so widespread in our region.
The second day of the conference will be dedicated to presentation of regional experts’ research on topical areas in the current context, structured in 3 fanels:Regional inequalities and their socio-economic consequences (2 parallel sessions);Established and new regional cooperation formats and initiatives inside and outside the EU;International games in the region. Competing interests in ESEE and their consequences.
