The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for the position of Director of the Slovak Studies Program, pending budgetary approval. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer and will begin on September 1, 2022. Position Description
The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures plans to appoint a tenure-track or tenured professor in Ukrainian literature and culture. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2022. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, typically two courses per semester (including freshman seminars, survey courses, and advanced seminars). We are seeking an energetic colleague committed to building our program in Ukrainian studies, introducing undergraduates to the study of this part of the world, advising advanced work with graduate students, and connecting Ukrainian studies to other disciplines and regions in creative ways. We expect the candidate to share in the Department’s administrative and advising duties as well as participating broadly in the academic culture of the university. Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and innovative scholarship is imperative.

We seek an individual who specializes in any period from feudal to the Russian Revolution. The successful candidate will demonstrate a vibrant program of research that complements existing faculty expertise. The Global Center is making a systematic, sustained effort to infuse interdisciplinary global perspectives into learning at all levels, from pre-kindergarten through graduate school and beyond.

The Associate Director will have the opportunity to plan, direct, and implement a wide range of scholarly and outreach programming. The AD collaborates with center staff, on-campus units, and off-campus community organizations to promote global competencies and language learning. The AD helps administer program and grant budgets.

The Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia (CREECA) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for one-semester Wisconsin Russia Project pre-doctoral dissertation fellowships for Russian social scientists, funded with a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. Fellows are expected to be in residence in Madison, Wisconsin, and to conduct research toward their dissertation about Russia in one or more of the five topic areas: 1) Education, labor markets, and inequality; 2) Law and society; 3) Political economy; 4) Identity, place, and migration; and 5) Demographic change. Graduate fellows will conduct research in consultation with UW faculty and form close contacts with UW PhD students and Wisconsin Russia Project postdoctoral scholars working on similar topics.  They will attend the weekly CREECA lecture series and take part in the activities of the Wisconsin Russia Project, such as monthly meetings of all project participants to discuss recent research papers in the field.

The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures at Princeton University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured position (tenure-track or recently tenured preferred) beginning September 1, 2022. We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and productive scholar and teacher who would complement the research and teaching agenda of our present faculty in the area of film and media. Among secondary desirable areas of specialization are contemporary Russian culture, visual studies, culture of the Russian diaspora, translation studies, drama/theater/performance, digital humanities, critical gender, race and ethnicity studies. The successful applicant will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses. Native or near-native fluency in Russian and English is required.
