The Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (CREEES) at Stanford University invites applications for the Wayne Vucinich Fellowship.

This is a twelve-week residential fellowship to be offered from April-June 2018. The fellowship is open to scholars in any discipline whose research focuses on historical or contemporary topics in Russia, East Europe, the Caucasus, or Central Asia.  Scholars who have received the PhD within the past five years are eligible to apply. (A PhD in hand is required at the time the residency begins.) Preference will be given to scholars who are residents of countries that fall under the direct purview of the Center: Russia, East Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia.

The department of Slavic Languages and Literatures in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, California) invites applications for an open-rank position (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor) with specialization in Russian literature and culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.  Particular consideration will be given to scholarly focus on the Silver Age and Modernism; or to the later twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Academic Job: Tenure-track Position in Migration and Diaspora Studies (OSU)

The Department of Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures is seeking to fill a tenure-track position in Migration and Diaspora Studies in East/Central European and Russian literatures and cultures. Viable candidates should have a background in the migration of persons and ideas across and outside of the region, as well as work in East European/Russian diaspora communities and their literatures/cultures, and in translation and interpreting of languages and literatures/cultures. We are particularly interested in candidates who explore the intersection of migration and narrative studies, migration and oral histories, interpretation as a skill, and languages in the professional spheres. This position is partially funded by Ohio State’s Discovery Themes, a significant faculty hiring investment in key thematic areas in which the university can build on its culture of academic collaboration to make a global impact.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent language skills in Russian and an additional Slavic (Central European) language, or excellent language skills in any other two Slavic (Central or East European) languages, as well as experience teaching in a North American academic setting. Preferred qualifications include program experience, university teaching experience and experience mentoring members of underrepresented groups. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of appointment, which is anticipated to be August 16, 2018.
