Residential Fellowships for Displaced Ukrainian Scholars (Purdue University)

Purdue University has decided to offer additional research opportunities for Ukrainian scholars displaced by the Russian invasion. Visiting scholars can be individuals with faculty positions at Ukrainian universities engaged in academic research or students enrolled in doctoral programs at Ukrainian universities who are engaged in dissertation research. Only individuals will be invited. Dependents will not be able to be hosted due to housing limitations. Accepted scholars will not be enrolled in degree programs but will rather engage in their own research or support research already being conducted by a Purdue faculty member.

The Outreach Coordinator helps fulfill the Title VI National Resource Center grant programming commitments for the Department of Slavic and Eurasian Studies and Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies. This includes working with the other area studies programs at UT on K-16 teacher trainings and outreach programming, as well as fulfilling commitments outlined in our Title VI NRC grant proposal.

Position is grant-funded through August 14, 2026, with the possibility of renewal based upon availability of funding, work performance, etc. Some travel required.

Every year, the Russian Studies department at Macalester College organizes a student research competition. This year, the competition will be in a virtual format and is open to undergrads at all U.S. colleges and universities. Cash prizes awarded!

Your project should be based on a term paper, digital project, or part of a senior thesis on any topic relevant to Eastern/Central Europe, Russia, or Central Asia written in Spring 2022, Fall 2022, or work-in-progress from Spring 2023. Your abstract should provide an overview of your project, including its thesis and conclusions, and be no more than 300 words.

The Museum seeks a postdoctoral fellow to research, review, and write content for USHMM’s online Holocaust Encyclopedia. The incumbent will help the Museum to convey stories of the Holocaust and other genocides with the goal of making the past relevant today as well as encouraging our visitors to think, question, care and take action.

This position provides hands-on experience in producing historical content for public-facing digital resources, as well as significant time for research and writing in the chosen candidate’s area of specialization. The position combines professional experience with time to pursue independent scholarly research and interact with other fellows in the Museum’s visiting scholars program.
