Continue reading “Conference: NAFSA Int’l Education Virtual Workshops”Call for scholarship application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary for the credit-based Hungarian Language and Hungarian Studies Programme in the academic year of 2021/2022.
The scholarship is intended for individuals of non-Hungarian citizenship (and of non-Hungarian decency) to increase their Hungarian language competence and “Hungarology” knowledge acquired at universities outside Hungary.
The objective of the Hungarian Language and Hungarian Studies scholarship is to improve, broaden and strengthen the Hungarian language skills and “Hungarology” knowledge of graduate or undergraduate students of Hungarian studies. The two-semester course takes place in the MFA in Budapest with the cooperation of the University of Pécs and with KKM Magyar Diplomáciai Akadémia Kft. (KKM MDA Kft., a background institution of the MFA)
Continue reading “Study Abroad: Hungarian Studies Balassi Scholarship”The AATSEEL national meeting is a forum for scholarly exchange of ideas in all areas of Slavic and East/Central European languages, literatures, linguistics, cultures, and pedagogy. The Program Committee invites scholars in these and related areas to form panels around specific topics, organize roundtable discussions, propose forums on instructional materials, and/or submit proposals for individual presentations for the 2022 conference. The conference regularly includes panels in linguistics, pedagogy, second language acquisition, literatures, and cultures relevant to the organization’s regions of focus. The next annual AATSEEL conference will be held in person at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, February 17-20, 2022, and the Call for Papers and Call for Streams are currently open and accepting submissions.

NISS Dissertation Grants are designed to support outstanding Ph.D. students who need additional resources to complete doctoral work that promises to significantly advance their fields of study.
For 2021, NISS is seeking nominations in the fields of anthropology, economics, political science, and sociology. Interdisciplinary projects that include one or more of these fields as a major component may also be considered.
The submission deadline for this year’s competition is Friday, April 16, 2021 at 5:00 pm ET.

The Supplemental College Research Fellowship (SCRF) is awarded to supplement prestigious external grants and fellowships. SCRFs are limited to a maximum of 50% of a faculty member’s salary for the award period, regardless of the amount that the outside funding covers. The length of the award may vary to accommodate the requirements of the granting agency. Applicants and department chairs should nominate the faculty member only after receiving confirmation of the outside award. Since these awards involve the faculty member requesting a leave or release from the instructional budget, please review the college’s Faculty Leave information.
