3D GDAD Capstone Course

The 3D Capstone course in the GDAD Program at The University of Texas at Austin occurs each spring and challenges students to utilize all their new skills to create a final project. Undergraduates from the Departments of Arts and Entertainment Technologies, Computer Science, and Radio-Television Film were assigned to one of five teams, each of which developed their own unique 3D video game.

Below are the results of the capstone.


 

Banana Cowboy

Team 1

Banana Cowboy

Banana Cowboy is an adventure platformer set in a fruit-themed universe. You are the Banana Cowboy, the outcasted son of the king of the Banana Planet. However, your tyrannical twin brother has taken control of the fruit worlds with his evil blender, and it is up to you to liberate the universe. Save your scattered people from the Orange Bikers and Blueberry Pirates using your trusty lasso!

Stellar Larceny

Embark on a cosmic heist in this thrilling zero-gravity space adventure! Skillfully maneuver the galaxy as a sentient robot, armed with your trusty grappling hook, jet propellers, and magnetic boots. Your mission? Infiltrate different facilities to secure the ultimate loot: the gift of life itself.

The Nile Rhythm

The Nile Rhythm

Steer the boat to the rhythm as you ferry lost souls across the Duat in this VR rhythm game! Turn the wheel and move the levers to stay the course, and reach your hands to catch the souls as they fly towards you. Go with the flow in this upbeat and kinetic experience, and try to master all of the tracks!

Feather Bound

Feather Bound

Join Pip, a flightless fledgling, in a single-player adventure puzzle game as they journey to the top of a colossal tree! Help neglected eggs find their nests, and use your wits to navigate through unexpected twists you find along the way. Prove that you don’t need wings to reach great heights!
