Grid Block

The Grid Block is a container block that can be used to organize multiple blocks in a grid format. You can adjust the height, width, and position of all blocks inside the container and transform the block into a Group, Row or Stack block.

Getting Started

Place your cursor in the Body field where you want the layout to begin. Type /grid or click the Add Block button Add Block Button and select the Grid block. In the first section, click the add block button The Add Block button and choose a block type.

To continue adding blocks to the grid, click the Add Block button Add Block Button in the lower right-hand corner of the grid. You can also hover your mouse in between blocks until the Add Block button appears.

The toolbar gives you the following options:

  • Transform to
  • Moving handles
  • Options

Transform to

Click on the “Transform” button Transform Button to convert the Grid block into Group, Row, Stack, Cover or Columns blocks.

The drag button Drag button in the toolbar lets you drag and drop a block within the container. The arrow icons Arrow Buttons shift a block up or down in your document.

Options

The Options button Options Button with three vertical dots on a block toolbar gives you more features to customize the block. You can read about these settings on the WordPress documentation site.

Block Settings

The block settings lets you change the layout, transform the blocks and even add a background color to either the entire grid or a single block. Please keep accessibility in mind and use this contrast checker to check the background color against the foreground content.
