Mission

The Game Development and Design Program exists to graduate career-ready designers, developers and leaders in the game, AR/VR, and creative media industries, both in Texas and around the world.

Vision

The Game Development and Design Program strives to be one of the top undergraduate game development programs in the U.S. In order to accomplish our vision, we are merging the intellectual and creative powers of The University of Texas at Austin’s Arts and Entertainment Technologies, Computer Science, and Radio-Television-Film departments and the Texas Interactive Media Institute.

Goal

The goal of the Game Development and Design Program is to achieve two primary objectives essential to advance the interdisciplinary fields of digital interactive and immersive media, game and mobile development:

Significantly increase the digital media workforce by graduating great talent
Provide cutting-edge courses to bring together practitioners, academics and students with diverse backgrounds in computer science, communications, art, music, and design
