Featured Content Blocks Last Updated November 2025 Featured Content Blocks: Heros, Carousels, Ambient Video and Galleries are designed to perform well with large media and usually perform well even in Full width content sections. But please take care not to load too many on a single page. We must balance looking good and loading fast. See the content Editor Guide and inline instructions on your site for additional details. Heros Hero blocks may be used in any part of the page but since they present larger images they are recommended for Container or Full width Sections and to be used sparingly on the page. Semantics of the Text in Heros Even though text entered into the Heading field of the Hero Blocks are visually displayed as large text, the content will be read as a paragraph. Most of the Hero options lack semantic heading tags. Remember, hierarchical headers are very important to quality web content. You may need to use the Block Title field which is displayed as a H2 or add headings in a Basic block to mitigate issues with out-of-order or lack of headings. Heading 1 (H1 tag) Hero We’ve created a Hero option that displays the text in the “Heading” field as a Heading level 1 (H1) tag. (Ambient Video may also function as an H1) To comply with requirements for hierarchical headings, you must have a single H1 tag on every page, so to use the H1 Hero on a page, you must remove the H1 created by the page Title field from the display. To Remove the Page Title: Go to the “Edit” tab, uncheck “Display Title” in the “Display Options” in the right sidebar area. Only if you are using the H1 Hero or the Ambient Hero with H1 option can you remove the page Title. Carousel Consider carefully the pros, cons and best practices of using a carousel. Auto play is discouraged especially for slides with text. Autoplay is an option, however it is not recommended, especially for any slides with text. The speed of the slide rotation is set to 5 seconds. Galleries Creates a simple grid of thumbnails that can be clicked and open in a popup “light box”. The thumbnails will be cropped to a standard aspect ratio but the full image is displayed in the pop up. On mobile size screens the full image with captions are displayed without the interactive pop up.
