Quick Start

Last Updated August 2025

The COFA Web team will need to give you access privileges so that you can create content on the website. Send your EID and the URL address of the site you need to edit to cofawebmaster@austin.utexas.edu.

If you’re just starting out you may want to start with understanding your access level and some recommended workflows.

Logging into your site

Add /saml/login to the end of your website’s path in the location field of the browser. This will take you to the enterprise login page where you’ll log in with your EID and password. (If you go to the path (your website + /user) you can click the “Sign in with UT EID” link to access the correct login page.)

After logging in, start at the Dashboard where you’ll find links to everything you need, including the Content Editor Guide where there are examples and links to the how-to instruction site.

Follow the inline instructions and it should be fairly intuitive for most basic edits but the COFA Web team will be happy to meet any time to answer questions and help work through any editing tasks. We are always here to help and we’d love to hear from you with suggestions that might make the site better. We have Monthly Virtual Open Office Hours if you have any questions or would like help working through an issue. Join us on the second Monday of the month from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and the fourth Thursday of the month from 2 – 3:30 p.m. contact us for the meeting link.
