Delete a Page or Post

Last Updated November 2024

Consider carefully when removing content from your website:

  • Removing the content may affect Inbound links & Search indexing.
  • Compliance with Records Retention.

Deleting a Page or Post is a 2 step process:

Step 1 decide how to remove the Page or Post:

If you move a Page of Post to the Trash in WordPress it will be available for 30 days and then deleted permanently.

If you need to keep a record of a page in order to comply with Records Retention, you should edit it and save it as a Draft, as in the following screenshot:

Step 2 remove it from the menu:

If the Page or Post is in the navigation menu for the site, you must delete it from the menu.
