Nowadays, it’s easy to assume that students “just know” how to use technology. But, whether you’re teaching an online or in-person course, it’s important to provide resources for the lowest possible bar of prior knowledge so that students do not have to self-identify should they need extra tutorials, and for students to have access to knowledge refreshers at any point during the semester.
Or as Senior Lecturer Robert Quigly (UT School of Journalism) puts it, “You shouldn’t “assume your students know anything.”
To help with that, here are some resources to help students get started with Canvas, and much more.
Canvas Basics:
- Log In to Canvas
- Canvas Training Center
- Canvas Student Tutorials
- Training Center Modules – Resources for instructors (and students)
- Canvas Community – Student Guide
