Please disable the Panopto Video link in your Canvas course(s). Instructions below.
Yesterday, 3/24/2020, the University enabled a new tool called Panopto in every Canvas course.
However, under the circumstances, you probably don’t have hours of free time to spend learning how to use it. So my recommendation to you is that you disable Panopto in all your Canvas courses until further notice.
To do that, follow the simple steps illustrated in this 2-minute video, or the 6 steps listed below:

Like most people, you’ve probably been using Google for ages now. And, I guarantee your students have been too. It’s also likely that your students are not just using Google to search for things, but they’re probably also using Google Apps and Google Drive to create and share documents.
The good news is, that now you and your students share documents, without ever leaving your Canvas course.

If you’re anything like me, when you think of YouTube you probably think of cat videos and other sorts of general silliness.
But over the last few years, YouTube has grown by leaps and bounds and become the third most-visited Website (after Google and Facebook). It’s also quickly outpacing both network and cable television, especially with younger viewers.

There are lots of different ways you can add engaging, interactive content to your courses and you don’t even have to leave Canvas to do it.
Using the features built right in to Canvas’ Rich Content Editor and your computer’s webcam and microphone, you can record video or audio directly into any page, quiz, assignment or discussion with your course. Your students can even do the same thing.
