There are always lots of cool, new, innovative things happening around campus and here in the School of Nursing. Here are just a few that I wanted to share with you and highlight. If you know of anything you’d like to add to future emails, please let me know!
Mid-semester is upon us (or will be soon!) and here’s a great, simple resource that can help you get feedback from your students to help make changes or improvements to your courses now, rather than at the end.

Well, then you’ve come to the right place! We have several new resources to help you do just that.
Zoom and BigBlueButton are both “video conferencing” tools, and they have a lot in common. But, they also have some important differences. And deciding which one you should use will depend in large part on what exactly you want to do.
Do you ever have guest lecturers who can’t make it to campus, or want to conduct online interviews or “virtual office hours”?
Do you need to record a lecture or short video that you can share with students later on? Is inclement weather preventing you (or your students) from coming to campus?

This guide, created by the FIC team, applies to ALL modern versions of Windows: Windows 10, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Some of the methods described in the tutorial, work only in one or two of these operating systems.

Whether you haven’t yet had a chance to really explore our new first-floor classrooms, or you’d like a quick refresher before your next class, these three short videos (12 minutes total) will give you a quick overview of how to use the new technology in each classroom as well as some tips regarding what to do and what NOT to do.
By now you’ve probably noticed that many of the classrooms on the first floor here in the School of Nursing have been completely remodeled. One BIG part of that remodel was upgrading the technology available in each of those classrooms.
Over the course of the next year or so, all of our classrooms will be upgraded with the same technology.
So, to help you begin getting acquainted with this new tech and how to use it, here’s a handy classroom cheatsheet (show below) that explains the major features of the touch panel used to control the computer and projector in each classroom.
