Capital Area Food Bank of Texas Nutrition Education Intern

The Capital Area Food Bank of Texas (CAFB) Nutrition Education Intern supports the CHOICES Nutrition Education Program in their effort to provide nutrition education to the community. This person will gain valuable experience in community nutrition and work with a Registered Dietitian and Nutritionists.

Primary Internship Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an assistant for CHOICES Program Nutrition Education classes (children, adults, and/or senior classes).
  • Contact CAFB Partner Agencies to provide them information on the CHOICES Program via phone and email.
  • Help to market the CHOICES Program by sending brochures and/or marketing materials to Partner Agencies.
  • Assist Registered Dietitian with Kids Cafe menu analysis using Food Processor software.
  • Assist Registered Dietitian in analyzing the nutrition content of CAFB inventory.
  • Assist dietitian and nutritionists with preparing for classes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Nutrition Education Manager.

Internship Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate student considering a career in nutrition, community nutrition, and/or dietetics.
  • Must have a general interest in nutrition, science, food, cooking, etc.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse range of people.

Public Relations Intern with kimberly strenk pr, inc.

In this role you will have the opportunity to learn the essential skill set needed to become a public relations coordinator. Candidate must be a skilled communicator, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must. Creative thinking is a plus. Serious candidate will be a self-starter, responsible, punctual and extremely detail-oriented. Proficiency with social media platforms a plus: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest among others. This position is offered as an unpaid or paid internship, depending on applicant’s experience.
