2025 Summer Ambassador Program- National Museum of the Pacific War – Museum Education, Development, and Marketing Postitions

The NMPW offers hands-on experience working at a museum in a specialized field. As an ambassador, you will get hands on experience, develop projects, and attend workshops that offer career insights and behind-the-scenes opportunities.

Museum Education: Ideal for students interested in history, education, living history, public programming, public speaking, research, and writing.

Development: Ideal for students interested in fundraising events, securing grant funding, individual donor stewardship and cultivation, membership programs, and other business development initiatives. Perfect for Ambassadors interested in business administration, sales, or nonprofit operations!

Marketing: Ideal for students interested in marketing, social media, video production, audio and video editing, graphic design, script-writing, photography, videography, and community outreach.

2025 Summer Internships – National Museum of the Pacific War – Archives, Museum Programs, and Collections

Intern Program 2025

The NMPW offers hands-on experience working at a museum. As an intern, you will be empowered to ask questions, develop projects, and attend workshops that offer hands-on experience, career insights, and behind-the-scenes opportunities.

Archives Intern: 

The archives intern will help preserve Pacific War history by assisting the Archivist with processing, arranging, and describing material. The archives intern will create finding aids and may work with preparing material for digitization. The assigned work is flexible depending on the interests of the intern. This position is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in archival studies and/or library science.

Museum Programs Intern: 

The Museum Programs Intern will help engage and inspire visitors of all ages by assisting or implementing museum programs, participating in living history events, developing educational resources, helping with research, and more! This position is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in museum programming, education, and public history. Applicants can choose between two tracks: youth programs or adult programs. Please specify your chosen track in your application.

Collections Intern: 

The collections intern will assist with accessioning backlogged items, help house accessioned artifacts of various mediums and sizes, create records for the digital database, and more! This position is open to undergraduate and graduate students interested in museum collections and curatorial work.

Schedule: 

  • May 27th-August 2rd
  • 10 weeks
  • long 30-40 hours a week (dependent on internship)
  • Weekly schedules arranged by supervisors

*Please note that while we are able to offer housing for up to 3 interns, there are five internships available and housing will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Interns who do not receive housing through the program will be responsible for arranging their own accommodations.

Summer and Fall 2025: The Arc of the Capital Area Art Gallery Intern Opportunities

About The Arc of the Capital Area:

The Art & Education program is offered by the Arc of the Capital Area. We run an art studio and gallery where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities spend time each day creating artwork together. We are looking for a motivated and creative gallery intern who is available 15-20 hours a week; however, we are willing to be flexible to accommodate academic schedules. This is an unpaid internship.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the Art Gallery hanging art, making sales and providing customer service.
  • Prepare for art events. Duties include inventorying artwork into the computer, arranging and hanging paintings, and organizing merchandise.
  • Update and maintain social networking sites for the art studio/gallery.
  • Assist Director of Art and Education with a variety of tasks.
  • Attend art shows held at the studio/gallery.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience or interest in Art
  • Experience or desire to work with people with development and intellectual disabilities.
  • Preferably a student studying Human Development, Art, Art Education, Social Work or a related field.
  • Computer skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
