Communications Intern
Unpaid Internship
3 month minimum – 6 months maximum; 4-8 hours per week; flexible

Supervisor: Tina Snider, Director of Communications

Job Purpose: Assist the Director of Communications and the Communications Coordinator with online and offline communications strategies including social media planning, collateral development and website maintenance.

Duties:

  •  Assist in managing and writing social media content to promote RMHC CTX brand
  •  Research, analyze and report RMHC CTX analytics and social media metrics
  •  Identify ways to cross promote and share relevant information within social media platforms
  • Assist in completing marketing communication projects and assignments to advance RMHC CTX brand
  •   Draft press releases and newsletter content
  • Assist the Development Team with communications support for special events

    Skills and Experience:

  • Thorough and detailed expertise with written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HTML and working in a web environment is a plus
  • Developed organizational skills and great attention to details
  • Able to manage multiple activities at one time and work in a fast-paced environment showing self-initiative

Internship with Sanctuary Yoga

Sanctuary Yoga and the Amala Foundation are seeking a highly motivated intern. (Sanctuaryyogaaustin.com, amalafoundation.org) 

Sanctuary Yoga is the only non-profit  yoga studio in Austin that offers an intimate space devoted to the deepening and upliftment of humanity. All proceeds from Sanctuary Yoga support the youth programs of the Amala Foundation, a 501c(3) that unites youth from all walks of life and inspires them to grow as individuals and as leaders in service to humanity. 

This opportunity offers an unforgettable internship experience for someone interested in learning about all aspects of running a small organization.  It offers students a hands-on immersion in management, administration, public relations, programming, marketing, finances, operations, customer service and small business administration as well as insight into nonprofit management. 

Skills required:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Great interpersonal skills, customer service and a love of dealing with the public
  • Creativity, initiative and the ability to gracefully introduce yourself to new people
  • Computer proficiency and skills in Word and basic research
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to approach challenges in a creative, positive and team-centered manner
  • Available to work hours that meet the general operational needs of the studio
  • Experience with Social Media management

B*Tru Arts: Nonprofit Leadership & Management Internship

B*Tru Arts, a local non-profit performing arts organization is looking for a talented, motivated and hardworking Nonprofit Leadership & Management Intern. Intern will work directly with the company’s Founder and Producing Artistic Director.The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities with minimal supervision to meet deadlines. In return, they will have the opportunity to work closely with senior management and earn real-world experience through high-impact projects.

This is an outstanding leadership opportunity in an innovative, emerging nonprofit!

Nonprofit Leadership & Management

  • Research and identify business development opportunities
  • Assist with analysis of current operations, procedures, company structure and systems
  • Collaborate with senior staff to determine and implement best management practices
  • Budgeting preparing financial statements
  • Fundraising and grantwriting
  • Board and staff development and management
  • Developing relationships with key community partners
  • Researching and maintaining data for nonprofit operations

Skills & Experience 

  • Microsoft Office experience
  • QuickBooks knowledge preferred
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and budget
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Details

  • Part-time Internship: 10-12 hours/week
  • Timeframe and Schedule: Flexible; attend occasional evening meetings
  • The internship is unpaid, but there will be opportunities for networking and professional development

What We Do

B*Tru Arts is a multi-cultural, nonprofit, performance production company that offers training and services to the public and to local artists, with a focus on dance, acting, visual arts and film. The Academy X*TRA is an after-school performing arts program intended to enrich the curriculum of local schools (both public and private) by providing affordable, pre-professional classes in dance, acting and visual arts for students who are looking to explore and develop their creative and expressive selves.Through the Youth Pre-Professional Performing Arts Program, B*Tru Arts educates and prepares young artists for professional careers in the performing arts through classes, showcase performances and audition opportunities. The B*Tru Arts Professional Talent Management division represents local performers of all ages with a variety of skill sets, including actors, dancers, musicians, DJs, voice actors and comedians. Finally, B*Tru Arts Production Services provide affordable photography,videography, performance, choreography and screenwriting services to the community.

Through B*Tru Arts general assistance programs, we work with local artists to raise awareness of current global, communal and social issues by experimenting with visual, physical and spiritual art through dance, theater and film. We support artists and art that helps awaken human consciousness and significantly adds to the efforts of preserving artistic culture in Austin, Texas.
