Brief Description:
Founded in 2013, Project Sleep is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of sleep health, sleep equity, and sleep disorders. Project Sleep’s current programming includes the new Sleep Helpline™, Rising Voices℠ leadership training program, the Narcolepsy Nerd Alert℠ broadcast series, the Jack & Julie Narcolepsy Scholarship, Narcolepsy: Not Alone®, the Sleep In campaign, and sleep advocacy efforts.
Job Summary:
Social Media Intern: The summer/fall is a busy time for Project Sleep with major advocacy and awareness events happening such as online World Narcolepsy Day events and the Sleep Advocacy Forum. In this unpaid marketing internship, you will support the organization’s marketing initiatives and strategies. This includes implementing multi-channel communications strategies; writing, editing, proofreading, and publishing content across various digital platforms; monitoring and engaging with the broader sleep and health-related space online to support others’ efforts and share resources; and monitoring, tracking, and reporting on campaigns. This role will provide significant experience in non-profit communications, community engagement, public relations, and marketing.

Summer 2024 Internship Opportunities
Development Intern
Reports to: Development Coordinator
Intern Period: Summer 2024
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Format: remote (unpaid)

The Development Intern assists our Development team with various tasks, including donor gratitude, grant research, fundraising campaigns, analyzing data, event planning, and more. The intern will have the opportunity to attend team meetings and learn from the seasoned staff in each area. The intern works closely with the Development Coordinator and other team members to ensure all department efforts align with our organizational goals.
Marketing Intern
Reports to: Director of Marketing / Marketing Assistant
Intern Period: Summer 2024
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Format: remote (unpaid)

The Marketing Intern assists the marketing team with various tasks related to promoting our organization and fundraising efforts. This will include social media management, content creation, email marketing, light graphic design, and other projects as assigned. The intern works closely with the Marketing Director, Marketing Assistant, and other team members to ensure all marketing efforts align with our organizational goals.
About Miracle Internships
Interns are required to donate at least 10 hours per week of their time; preferred days are Mondays and Thursdays in the office with some remote work (except for the Summer position, which is fully remote). This is an unpaid position.
Requirements
Miracle interns must exemplify the following:
- Global perspective, belief in our mission, and a passion for making a difference
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of computer proficiency, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail
- Organized and detail-oriented, with effective time-management skills
- Strong work ethic, the ability to follow through, and a willingness to do what needs to be done, no matter how large or small
- Dependable, self-motivated, and conscientious
- Outgoing and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude
- Professional, prompt, and dresses appropriately
- Must be older than 18 or in college. Note: high school interns will be considered for the Summer Internship position only. Priority will be given to students who require the internship for class credit.
