The Prevention Research Lab, operated by Dr. Keryn E. Pasch in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education, is searching for an undergraduate research assistant for the Spring 2013 semester. The focus of our lab is on understanding, preventing, and reducing youth risk behaviors.
An undergraduate research assistant is needed to create stimuli and contribute in the overall design of an upcoming study that involves children’s and adolescent’s attention to television commercials.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in video editing software
- Knowledge of recording and transferring recorded television or YouTube commercials to video files for use on a computer
- Prior research experience is a plus but not necessary
BENEFITS:
- Hands- on experience with the research process, with an emphasis on the relationship media has with health among youth
- Potentially assisting with research sessions to gain hands on experience working with youth
- Gain knowledge of eye-tracking equipment and software
