The University of Texas Campus Environmental Center is seeking a part-time Tailgate Recycling Coordinator. The Tailgate Recycling Coordinator will partner with CEC, Athletics and the Office of Sustainability to plan and implement recycling at April baseball games, the Spring football game, and the Fall football home games. They will also conduct analyses of the potential for recycling at the Erwin Center, softball and baseball games, as well as track events.
This position will require the student to be available January 2013 -Dec 2013, including part of the summer. Exact work schedule is negotiable except for the dates listed below.
March: 27-31
April: 5-7th, 9th, 19-21st, 26th
Aug: 31st
Sept: 14th, 21st
Nov: 2nd, 16th, 28th
Ideal candidate has strong interest and background in sports facility management and a passion for the environment. Must have some past experience with recycling initiatives beyond recycling at home; with proven knowledge of recycling materials. Responsible and reliable, with strong organizational planning skills. Must report on-time for all duties and communicate needs, questions, and suggestions promptly and clearly.
Ability to interact politely and enthusiastically with a wide variety of people from professional staff, to other students, to fans and the general public at sporting events. Upper level undergraduate or graduate student preferred.
