Asatte Press Digital Media Spring 2013 Internships Available

Asatte Press is pleased to announce Spring 2013 internships in Social Media, Public Relations, Journalism, Writing, and Digital Media Arts. These internships will be an exciting “ground zero” opportunity for students to work as a team in the definition, creation, and promotion of social media content.

During Spring 2013, Asatte Press will be launching several new Blog-to-Book projects to extend its skills product line to cover Diet, Job Search, Cloud Computing for Small Businesses, Business Chinese, and Dating. Each of these will have a new WordPress-based blog similar to our current blog: SystematicMartiniLifestyle.com

This internship program is intended to be a team effort of students interested in creating content (journalism, writing, photography, video, audio, animation, social media apps, mobile apps) and students interested in PR in the form of social media marketing.

The team will do a detailed analysis of target customers for each of the topics. For each topic, students will work in teams on content creation and social media promotion of the content.

The social media marketing aspects of the internship will focus on strategy, tactics, experiments, measurements, and analytics.

Digital Media Arts students who come from technical departments such as Computer Science or Engineering will be interested to know that the president of Asatte Press (who will be supervising the internships) has extensive experience in software development, including specific experience in digital signal processing, audio, music synthesizer design, and image processing. During the course of the internship, Asatte Press will be working on and releasing both Facebook applications based on HTML5 canvas and native iOS applications. For students with technical interests, these internships can be tailored to go as deep into the software technology and physics as the student would like.

How to apply: An information session for these internships will be held in the conference room of the School of Communications Career Center (BMC 2.508) on Tuesday, 1/15/2013 from 5:00PM to 6:00PM. David Hetherington (President of Asatte Press) will be on hand to discuss the internships, answer questions, and arrange for interviews for students who are interested in participating.
