The Freeman Stipend for Internships in Asia provides students interested in completing an internship in Asia with the opportunity to do so by reducing the financial barrier that may prevent some students from pursuing an internship abroad.
Students who are U.S. Citizens and who are planning on completing a minimum of an 8-10 week internship in one of the following Asian countries are eligible to apply: Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Apply today for the chance to be awarded a $2,500 – $4,000 scholarship for study abroad. The application is simple and no recommendations are required!

- Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident to apply
- Internship must be a minimum of 8-10 weeks in length
- Recipients must complete a service requirement either during the placement or post-placement
- Financial need (current FAFSA on file with UT Austin)
Priority will be give to undergraduate students and those with demonstrated financial need.
