The Sustainable Food Center, an Austin-based nonprofit, cultivates a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food. SFC envisions a food-secure community where all children and adults grow, share, and prepare healthy, local food.
The SFC is currently seeking interns for the following roles:
Farm-to-School
Join us and work with schools in the Austin area to promote the availability of fresh, local foods in cafeterias, support school gardening efforts, coordinate on-campus educational and outreach events, and connect schools with other healthy, local food systems programming and resources. This placement requires about five to seven hours per week, and provides opportunity to learn about farm-to-school and food-systems education programs, and gain insight into the operations of community-based organizations like SFC.
