DEVELOPMENT/COMMUNICATIONS SPRING INTERN
Position
The position will contribute to all internal and external Communications/Development projects with stakeholders including donors, volunteers, media, and board members. Ideal candidates have taken several nonprofit development, communications or marketing classes, have strong writing skills, and are familiar with social media. This position will report to, and work closely with, the Development Assistant and the Director of Annual Giving.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in design and execution of the organization’s social media strategy
- Coordinating research projects
- Provide event assistance
- Donor management/stewardship
- Write and edit press materials
- Distribute news releases
- Assemble media kits/marketing packets
- Update website
- Office administration

Explore Austin internships are unpaid, but can be tailored to meet requirements for class credit. Interns typically work 21 – 40 hours per week in blocks of time (i.e. MWF 9-5) and occasionally work weekends. It is important for the intern to commit for the entire semester.
