Turquoise Council of Americans and Eurasians (TCAE) is the fast‐growing umbrella organization of Turkic American associations throughout the United States dedicated to pursuing the interests of Turkic Americans and friends of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in Houston, Washington and beyond. TCAE hopes to advance economic and political interests within the proven framework of democracy, religious freedom and global prosperity.
Available Positions
TCAE seeks two types of interns: communications and outreach interns and research and writing interns. Applicants should be available to work 15 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and extending through the rest of the academic year. Hours are flexible, especially for the remainder of the fall semester.
Responsibilities: Outreach and Communications Intern
- Compose press releases and other materials
- Assist with mailings and print production
- Manage website and social media presence
- Attend networking events and follow up with contacts
- Assist with event planning
Responsibilities: Writing and Research Intern
- Monitor all forms of news media
- Collect and analyze data
- Create and update databases
- Compile literature reviews on economic, political, and cultural issues
- Write articles for the American Turkic business journal
Requirements
TCAE is looking for undergrad students in the Austin area. Applicants should have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Middle Eastern Studies, Political Science, Communications, or Journalism. Strong writing skills and a thorough understanding of social and printed media are essential.
