The Anti-Defamation League was founded in 1913 “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Now the nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agency, ADL fights all forms of bigotry, defends democratic ideals and protects civil rights for all.
In Austin, the work of the ADL focuses on our work in over 300 schools with our No Place for Hate® initiative, our work with law enforcement, our legislative advocacy efforts, and our work as convener of the Hate Crimes Task Force.
Interns will be part of the daily work of ADL, from helping with communication to research to writing articles. In addition, interns will help with whatever projects are going on in the office.

3. Read print and electronic media on topics connected to the ADL mission.
4. Under direct supervision, conduct research, prepare memos and letters, and draft meeting minutes in order to gain experience in the implementation of community service work.
5. Gain a better understanding of field of interest by participating in special projects in the fields of development, civil rights, international affairs, education, community service, management, or other areas of interest.
Secondary: Provide clerical assistance as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Research skills.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to ADL’s mission.
- Experience in Microsoft Word.
2. Work Experience:
- Prior volunteer or work experience helpful.
3. Education:
- High School student, matriculated college student, or recent High School or college graduate.
