CleanTX is a non-profit that serves as the clean technology industry group for Central Texas. Through our advancement of public-private partnerships, leadership in community education, economic development, and networking platform for industry stakeholders, CleanTX supports the rapidly growing clean energy economy of Central Texas.
An internship with CleanTX offers you an unparalleled experience in the Texas cleantech industry. As an intern you will have the opportunity to help organize various clean energy events and make a meaningful contribution to the development efforts of the region’s leading clean energy stakeholder group. You will meet, work with, and learn from industry heavy-hitters. This internship isn’t about filing papers or running to Starbucks. This is real work that makes a real difference. You’ll be directly involved in planning high-profile events, writing content read by thousands of people, and compiling information that supports the growth of a very important industry.
CleanTX values and respects your strengths and interests. The best work is done when one is engaged and enthusiastic, so you will be encouraged to do what interests you and can help the organization. Aside from publishing events and headlines on the computer, there are many interactive and optional, enjoyable events that you may attend such as Clean Energy Beers and UT Energy Symposium lectures. CleanTX’s associations with numerous companies in the greater Austin area and even outside of Texas provide plenty of networking opportunities. The CleanTX work environment is not only efficient, but also values the importance of building relationships within the team.
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Aggregating information on various clean energy events in Texas and keeping our website calendar up to date;
- Writing, collating, compiling, and editing content for the weekly newsletter;
- Assisting with event coordination and planning;
- Keeping the cleantech industry database up to date;
- Sending communications to members and sponsors;
- Helping to implement organizational systems and processes;
- Staying informed of the regional, state, national, and international energy industry.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong work ethic;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Love for detail and organization;
- Demonstrates high levels of accountability and personal responsibility;
- Interest in clean technologies and protecting the environment;
- Familiarity with Google Docs, MailChimp, WordPress, and/or CRM systems is a plus.
