State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization whose mission is to increasing recycling rates to the highest level afforded by balanced economic and environmental sustainability principles, for the benefit of the State and the people of Texas. We do this by focusing on key issues facing the recycling industry and encouraging our members to be problem solvers through participation in a number of working groups. STAR works closely with and serves as a network/resource for people and businesses in the recycling industry. Additionally STAR runs educational programs that focus on education and community. This is an unpaid position, based in Austin, with an expectation of 10+ hours/week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administrative and office duties
- Helping out with digital and social media
- Data input and management
- Participation in webinars and conference calls
- Research for small projects
Qualifications:
- Must have a college degree or be currently enrolled in a university and working toward a degree
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be a registered U.S. Citizen
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and self-motivated
- Be willing to use your laptop for office work
