Project Transitions is a non-profit agency that has been serving Central Texas for the last 25 years. We provide housing, hospice and recuperative care services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The hospice/recuperative care program is licensed by the state of Texas and provides 24-hour medical care to those at the end of life or who are recovering and ready to get back to their lives. The housing program provides transitional housing services through 1 and 2 bedroom apartments coupled with on-site case management and support services.
Position description – There are a few different position options at Project Transitions:
1) administrative assistant at the main office – duties include helping with daily admin duties for the Executive Director and Director of Client Services, social media management, fund raising event planning and implementation, etc
2) Doug’s House – work under the Program Coordinator/Social Worker to provide support and direct care to individuals living with HIV/AIDS who are medically compromised, learn about end of life planning and support and medical service coordination
3) Housing – work under the Program Coordinator/Social Worker to provide support to staff and residents living at the housing programs, to include case management, groups, breakfast, etc
4) Hybrid of all of the above to learn about a non-profit from a holistic perspective. This position would spend time at all 3 programs weekly or as needed/assigned.
Qualifications – person must be comfortable working along side people living with HIV/AIDS, take initiative, independent, flexible.
