DESCRIPTION
The American Diabetes Association’s Central Texas office announces the availability of two exciting internships – These interns will work directly with the Program/Event Managers for the selected program/event and gain valuable skills while assisting with program/event coordination, program/event marketing, promotion, creative planning, logistics, and implementation. Both of these unpaid internships can provide school credit, portfolio- building experience, a flexible schedule and valuable experience in the non-profit industry. Candidates must be energetic, team players, results-oriented and dedicated to the achievement of personal and team goals. These internships requires candidates with confidence in interpersonal communication, comfort with both verbal and written communication and a passion for making a difference in the lives of people affected by diabetes. Capital Factory
Capital Factory is the entrepreneurial center of gravity in Austin, Texas. Located in the heart of downtown Austin, Capital Factory has 50,000 square feet full of startups and entrepreneurs. Capital Factory is a coworking space, an incubator, a funding accelerator, an events space, and a community center for everything technology and entrepreneurship. The Venture Intern will work closely with the fund and Accelerator program.

You…
- have a passion for technology startups & venture capital (AND learning about the business)
- are detail oriented
- are familiar with the Google Apps suite of products (esp. Google Spreadsheets/Excel)
- wake up excited to learn about what technology is out there revolutionizing the world
- are a HARD & efficient worker
- have reliable transportation downtown
- have a reliable computer and smartphone
- have great discretion and don’t gossip
The duration of the internship is 4 months. This position pays in opportunities and education. You will learn inside the doors of the venture business and how entrepreneurs interact with VC. This will be a research-intensive position and you can expect daily operations to include deal sourcing, market and competitive analysis, and due diligence on early-stage Austin technology startups. You will attend awesome events, happy hours, and expect to meet investors, press, international fellows, government officials, and maybe even the President of the United States! You’ll work in the coolest office in downtown Austin on the top floor of the Austin Centre surrounded by passionate entrepreneurs.
