Consumers Union, the policy and advocacy division of Consumer Reports, announces one paid internship position for a current college or graduate student to assist with our social media outreach.
● Knowledge of social networking tools, especially Facebook administration and Twitter
● General knowledge of public policy
● Highly developed writing skills
● The ability to work with focus in a fas-tpaced, results-oriented environment
Field of Study: Social Sciences / journalism / marketing
● Reach new audiences/ expand our network of online activists using social networking channels and assist in community engagement and management
● Assist in the research of emerging social networks, listening tools, trends and policies
● Create written content for social media posts relevant to our advocacy issues.
● Coordinate communication and copy approval across all issue specific campaign areas within the organization, including by not limited to financial protections, patient safety, healthcare reform, green energy, telecommunications privacy, food/product safety and consumer recalls or scams. Knowledge of these issue areas is appreciated, but not required.
