AngelouEconomics (AE) is a highly-respected, economic development and site location consulting firm based in Austin, TX. Our dynamic team of consultants and researchers apply their extensive knowledge of Economics, Urban Planning, Business and Data Analysis to create customized strategies and analyses for public and private sector clients. This includes helping communities attract new businesses for expansion, conducting economic impact analyses, and developing comprehensive economic development strategic plans for communities (e.g. cities, counties, states).
Our team is currently looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals to join in the Fall 2015 Internship Program. This semester we are seeking candidates with experience and interest in data analysis and management to be involved in various research initiatives within the firm. The day-to-day and semester long tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Gathering, analyzing, and updating economic and demographic data from various sources
- Conducting research into economic development indicators and trends
- Summarizing best practices in economic development from around the globe
- Shadowing staff members through client and internal meetings
- Contributing and managing content for the AE blog and social media
- Completing an end of term project, such as the development of a case study or research tool
AE prides itself on helping its interns apply their academic knowledge to real-world situations while providing professional feedback and other job-enhancing opportunities. Interns applying to the fall program can expect to experience all facets of our office and participate in a range of opportunities, including AE’s meetings and sharpening professional skills. As an AE intern, you’ll be able to participate in the perks of life at AE, including regular training sessions and webinars, professional development seminars, group lunches and other activities.
Interns are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the fall semester. AE is prepared to provide a stipend based upon the candidate’s experience.
Requirements:
- College graduate (BA or higher) or in process of earning your college degree
- Independent, self-directed worker
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and organize data
- Internet research savvy
- Comfortable with phone interaction with clients
- Previous internship or related work experience a plus
